Beautiful building & Sutherland Hall. Too bad we couldn't see the other hall too. Gounod's Faust was an excellent performance.

Sydney Opera House, to me, is the finest example in the world of 20th century architecture (admittedly a low bar). People will be visiting this 500 years from now and will still admire it for its beauty, grace and style. A fascinating story of how it was designed, redesigned, and finally resulted in this outstanding structure. I took a tour during the day and saw Don Giovanni in the Opera theater. The tour was fascinating, but I recommend reading up on it before you go. The attention to detail and the craftsmanship are amazing is such a relatively new structure. They obviously take great care in maintaining and upgrading the facility. The opera was a first class performance. The acoustics were wonderful, as was the staging. Two heads ups: they say come as you are for the Opera. It is true there were tuxes and there were blue jeans, but i did feel under dressed without a coat and tie. (No choice: no room in the suitcase during my 21 day adventure). Also, only beer and wine during intermission. :(

Such an exciting evening, a highlight in our month of travel in Australia. Faust was excellent- unique - not just singing but classical ballet, modern dance , extraordinary choreography!

This performance of Gounod's Faust was equal to the astounding beauty of the building's architecture. The sets, costumes, production and vocal talent on stage were superb. An experience of a lifetime.

The venue is an absolute must just to visit for it’s iconic design, thus making it extra special when performances are on. As for the opera itself a fantastic performance and production. Even if you are not a complete opera buff like me it is well worth a visit

The performances and music were exceptional. We opted for "best available" tickets and were very impressed by the ones we received, given that it was a full house and we booked the morning of the opera. The costumes and sets were well done, and the lead male was exceptional. And, of course, the Opera House acoustics were superb.

A little disappointed that there were only four performers, but they were wonderful. But you could def. tell it was just a moneymaker for them for those just off the cruise ship. ACOUSTICS WERE INCREDIBLE!

Saw Don Giovanni - arrived and departed by river boat - great way to see the Opera House! Dining was excellent (except the wine was warm - twice!!), our seats were half way back in the circle but still a great view. If coming again I’d rather be in the stalls.

Impressive acoustics. We could hear every note from each singer. The emcee was eloquent and entertaining with his amusing jokes.
